Welcome to ROAM BLK. By creating an account or using the ROAM BLK mobile application ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use ROAM BLK. By registering, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current information in your profile. You may not impersonate another person or create multiple accounts.
You agree not to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, and to remove, withhold, dampen, or refuse to display any rating or content at our discretion.
You retain ownership of content you post (photos, text, trip details, posts, ratings, and survey responses). By posting content on ROAM BLK, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, modify, aggregate, derive metrics from, and excerpt that content within the Service and in promotional materials about the Service. You may delete your individual content at any time; aggregated and de-identified derivative metrics (such as Community Safety Ratings) may persist after deletion as described in our Privacy Policy.
You are solely responsible for content you share. We may remove content that violates these Terms or is reported by other users.
As a guest: When you purchase a ticket or book an experience, you agree to the listed price and the host's stated policies. Refunds are processed according to the cancellation policy displayed at the time of booking.
As a host: By listing events or experiences, you agree to honor bookings, provide the described service, and comply with all applicable local laws. ROAM BLK retains a platform fee on each transaction as displayed at the time of listing. Payouts are processed via Stripe Connect and subject to Stripe's payout schedule.
ROAM BLK is a marketplace platform. We do not directly provide travel experiences and are not liable for the quality, safety, or accuracy of host-provided services.
ROAM BLK offers travel companion matching ("Travel Buddy"), group trip planning, community posts, and direct messaging. These features are designed to facilitate genuine connections among travelers. You agree to use these features respectfully and in good faith.
ROAM BLK does not perform background checks on users. Exercise personal judgment and caution when arranging to meet other travelers in person. ROAM BLK is not responsible for any interactions, arrangements, or outcomes arising from connections made through the Service.
ROAM BLK may invite you to complete a short post-trip survey about your personal sense of safety in destinations you have visited. Survey responses are subjective opinions based on individual experiences at a particular point in time.
ROAM BLK aggregates these responses and may display them to other users as smoothed numeric scores, ranges, segmented breakdowns (for example, by time of day or whether the traveler was solo), trend indicators, or excerpted quotations ("Community Safety Ratings"). Aggregation methods may include statistical smoothing, recency weighting, outlier dampening, and minimum-sample-size thresholds. The current methodology is described at a high level in ROAM BLK's Community Guidelines.
Community Safety Ratings are not facts, professional safety assessments, security advisories, or guarantees of any kind. Safety conditions vary by neighborhood, time of day, season, demographics, individual circumstances, and current events, and can change rapidly. A high score does not mean an area is safe; a low score does not mean it is unsafe.
You agree not to rely solely on Community Safety Ratings or any other content within the Service when making travel, accommodation, transportation, or personal-safety decisions. Always consult official government travel advisories (such as the U.S. Department of State or your home country's equivalent), local authorities, and other authoritative sources before traveling, and exercise your own judgment on the ground.
ROAM BLK does not verify the accuracy, completeness, or honesty of any individual rating or comment. We may, without notice, withhold, dampen, recompute, segment, anonymize, excerpt, or remove ratings and comments to protect the integrity of the Service. You may opt out of contributing your responses to public aggregate scores in your Privacy Settings.
ROAM BLK includes Nova, an AI-powered travel assistant. Nova's responses are generated by large language models and are provided for informational and inspirational purposes only. Nova's suggestions — including destination recommendations, cultural information, safety tips, and itineraries — may not always be accurate, complete, or current.
Do not rely solely on Nova for safety-critical travel decisions. Always verify important information through official government travel advisories, local authorities, and other authoritative sources.
The ROAM BLK Passport lets you log countries and destinations you have visited. Passport stamps, badges, and cultural content (including the Cultural Calendar) are provided for entertainment and community purposes. Cultural information is curated but may not reflect all nuances of a destination's culture or current events.
ROAM BLK offers optional paid subscriptions (ROAM BLK+, Founding Member) managed through Apple's App Store and Google Play. Subscription terms, pricing, and renewal policies are governed by the applicable app store's terms. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your device's Settings at any time.
Event and experience payments are processed by Stripe. Subscription billing is managed by RevenueCat. By making a purchase, you agree to the applicable terms of Stripe and RevenueCat.
The ROAM BLK name, logo, design, and original content are the property of Olang Global LLC. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our branding without prior written permission.
ROAM BLK is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Travel information, destination data, AI-generated suggestions (Nova), Community Safety Ratings, traveler-submitted comments, and any aggregate scores or indicators derived from them are provided for informational and inspirational purposes only and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for travel planning or safety decisions.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ROAM BLK and Olang Global LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to lost travel plans, missed connections, financial losses, or personal injury resulting from interactions with other users or host-provided services.
Without limiting the foregoing, ROAM BLK and Olang Global LLC shall not be liable for any harm, loss, injury, or damages arising from your reliance on Community Safety Ratings, post-trip survey responses, traveler-submitted comments, or any aggregate scores, ranges, segments, trends, or excerpts derived from them. You acknowledge that such ratings and comments are subjective opinions of other travelers and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, biased, or fraudulent despite ROAM BLK's good-faith efforts to maintain their integrity.
You may delete your account at any time through Settings > Delete Account. Upon deletion, your profile, content, and data will be permanently removed within 30 days. Active subscriptions must be cancelled through your device settings before deleting your account to avoid further billing.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of ROAM BLK after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights.
Except for (a) actions to enforce intellectual-property rights, (b) claims that may be brought in small-claims court within that court's jurisdictional limits, and (c) any other claim that applicable law prohibits from being arbitrated, you and ROAM BLK agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules and Procedures (or its then-current consumer rules) in New York, New York. The arbitrator's decision is final and enforceable in any court of competent jurisdiction. Either party may seek temporary or preliminary injunctive relief in court in aid of arbitration.
Class action waiver. You and ROAM BLK agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative action. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims and may not preside over any form of representative or class proceeding. If a court decides that this class-action waiver is unenforceable as to a particular claim or remedy, that claim or remedy (and only that claim or remedy) shall be severed from arbitration and brought in court, while the rest of this Section continues to apply.
30-day right to opt out. You may opt out of this Section 17 by emailing legal@weareroam.app with the subject line "Arbitration Opt-Out" within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, including your full legal name, the email associated with your account, and a clear statement that you are opting out. Opting out of arbitration will not affect any other part of these Terms.
Informal dispute resolution. Before initiating arbitration, you agree to send a written notice describing the dispute to legal@weareroam.app and to negotiate in good faith for at least 60 days.
ROAM BLK respects the intellectual-property rights of others and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). If you believe content on ROAM BLK infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent including: (i) your physical or electronic signature; (ii) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed; (iii) identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and information sufficient to locate it; (iv) your contact information; (v) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized; and (vi) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ROAM BLK, Olang Global LLC, and their affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your access to or use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms or applicable law; (c) your content or any submission you make; (d) your interactions with other users, including any travel or in-person meetings; or (e) your infringement of any third party's rights.
Neither party will be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations under these Terms to the extent caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, pandemics or public-health emergencies, war, terrorism, civil unrest, government action, labor disputes, internet or telecommunications failures, third-party service outages, or cyberattacks.
You represent that you are not located in, under the control of, or a national or resident of any country or jurisdiction subject to comprehensive US sanctions (currently including Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions), and that you are not on any US government list of restricted or prohibited parties. You agree to comply with all applicable US and international export-control and sanctions laws when using ROAM BLK.
If you obtained ROAM BLK through the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Olang Global LLC only, not with Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for ROAM BLK. Apple is not responsible for any product warranties, claims, or third-party intellectual-property claims relating to ROAM BLK. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms with respect to your license to use ROAM BLK on Apple-branded devices, and upon your acceptance Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary. You agree to comply with the Apple Media Services Terms and the App Store usage rules when using ROAM BLK on iOS.
If you obtained ROAM BLK through Google Play, you agree to comply with the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is not responsible for the operation, content, or support of ROAM BLK.
You consent to receive communications from us electronically (email, push notifications, in-app messages, SMS where you have opted in). Electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing. Notices to you will be sent to the email associated with your account; notices to us must be sent to legal@weareroam.app.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms (together with the Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, Host Terms where applicable, and Accessibility Statement) are the entire agreement between you and ROAM BLK regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
